Tournament Rules & Info:

Registration must be completed on line or by phone before a team will be entered into a tournament. Tournament fee must be paid within 14 days of registration by check or credit card. Teams will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

MANDATORY: All teams must check in at the tournament desk prior to play and provide a copy of the following:

  • Official Team Roster:     
  • Your roster may be turned in electronically via email up to 2 days prior to the event. If not you must turn in a roster at check in. If you have a question about a player on the opposing team please verify the legality of your opponent's game roster before you take the field.  Commencement of play designates your acceptance of your opponent's roster and game results will not be changed. 

      Therefore, regarding rosters, the only protestable offense after a game begins is the use of a player that does not appear on a roster at all.

  • Insurance Verification or Signed Medical Release/Waiver Form
  • NOTE: Birth certificates should be in possession of the team manager for each game. Teams are required to have the player’s birth certificate if challenged; penalty is forfeit of game.
  • Failure to check in prior to your team taking the field MAY result in forfeit!!!

A gate admission fee will be charged to each team of $100. If your team registers and PAYS 21 days prior to the tournament you will receive a $25 discount.

Any team dropping out of a tournament after schedule is posted forfeit their entry fee unless a replacement team is found. If a replacement team is found the dropping team will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.

ACSB Rain Out Policy


No games played = 100% FULL refund

1 game played = 60% refund

2 games played = NO REFUND, although, each team WILL receive a $75.00 "discount" into "ANY" ACSB scheduled tournament throughout the remainder of the season.  If the last tournament of the season is affected, the discount "can" be applied to "ANY" tournament during the following season.

3 or more games played = NO REFUND

All gate fees are non-refundable once the tournament has begun (1 game played)


In the case of games being rained out after pool play is completed, or during bracket play, trophies will ONLY be awarded if the final two teams in the bracket have been determined.  In this case, the highest remaining seed will receive 1st Place and the lower seed will be awarded 2nd Place.

 

General Rules:

Coin toss will determine home team in pool play, In bracket play; the highest seed will be home team. In the event a pool game ends in a tie it will count as a 1/2 win 1/2 loss. In elimination bracket play all games will be continued until a winner is determined.

NO infield will be allowed before games. (This also includes taking infield on a field not being used)

Changes to lineup must go directly to umpire.

A team may bat nine, 10 with an Extra hitter, or bat the entire roster.

High school slide rule is in effect.

 

Batter must keep one foot in the box, when getting a sign from the coach.

Each team must have a minimum of 8 players to start a game. The ninth spot in the batting order will be an automatic out. The ninth player may be added at anytime when he/she arrives. If a team is using an EH and goes down to 9 batters the 10th spot becomes an automatic out. If they drop to 8 the game becomes a forfeit. If roster batting, players arriving late will be announced and added to the END of the batting order. Also, if batting the roster and a player needs to leave the premises due to injury or sickness, an automatic out will NOT be charged. An automatic out WILL be charged if the player is removed from the game and remains on the property!!!

All non-adults must wear double earflap helmets while in the playing field. When a team is batting the entire roster, there is free substitution on defense, except for the pitcher.

STARTER RE-ENTRY: If a team is batting nine or ten players, any of the starters may be withdrawn and reentered one time, including a player who is the extra hitter, provided such player returns to the lineup in the same batting position in which he left.

COURTESY RUNNERS: A courtesy runner may be used for the pitcher and catcher. Courtesy runners must not be in the current line up. In the event a courtesy runner is not available (only for the catcher with 2 outs) the last batted out shall run. The same courtesy runner may not run for the pitcher and catcher in the same inning. Courtesy runners are NOT allowed after time has expired!!! Courtesy runners are not mandatory. It is a coaches decision.

 

MISCELANIOUS RULES:

Metal cleats are Not Allowed in the 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 & under division.

Teams must have players in uniforms that are similar in color with numbers on the back.

A maximum of 4 coaches per team will be allowed in the dugout and/or on the field at the same time during a game.

 

SAFETY RULE: If the runner from third base is running toward home plate attempting to steal or is participating in a squeeze play, the following apply: 1) The batter has two options; 1) take the pitch or 2) attempt to bunt the pitch.  PENALTY – Failure to do so will result in the following: 1) The batter is called out 2) All runners return to the base occupied at the time of the pitch 3) The third base coach is ejected.  NOTE:  With the bases loaded, three balls and two strikes on the batter, coaches please have your runner on third use extreme caution when advancing on the pitch. UMPIRES:  In this situation, please be aware that this is not a steal play or squeeze play if the batter swings the bat.  Do not enforce the penalty with this circumstance.

 

PITCHING RULES: Starting pitchers may re-enter as a pitcher one time provided they have not been removed from the field/lineup AND HAVING BEEN REMOVED FROM THE MOUND ON THE 1ST COACHING VISIT FOR THE SPECIFIC PITCHER. A coach is allowed 3 charged visits to the mound each game. When a visit is made to the mound and the pitcher is pulled, that is not considered a visit and is not counted towards the total of 3 visits per game allowed.

Official rules will be the OBR rules (Unlimited pitching for all Barrett Fletcher tournaments).

Game Time Limits:

 

  8 and under – 1 hour and 15 minutes

12 and under – 1 hour and 30 minutes

14 and under – 1 hour and 45 minutes

 

*Championship games will be played without a time limit unless otherwise noted with the exception of the 7u & 8u age division, which will be played at time limit (1hour and 45 minutes). Semi-final games will have 15 minutes added to the time limits in all divisions.

 

In case of tie during bracket play, The California Tie Breaker will be used with no outs.

Tournament Advancement: The following rules will determine which teams will advance out of their pools.

1.    Win-Loss Record

 

2.    Head to Head (If only 2 teams have same record)

 

3.    Fewest Runs Allowed

4.    Runs Scored

5.    Coin Toss

 

 

PROTESTS: There are no protests. Disputes are settled on the field. Head coach must call timeout and discuss dispute with umpires and tournament director. At the time a tournament director is requested, the game time should be stopped by the umpire in charge.

SCORE KEEPING AND GAME CARDS: Home team will keep the official scorebook. The umpires for each game played will complete game cards. Coaches are responsible for signing the game cards at the END of each game played. Coaches are responsible for checking the score on the scorecard to insure accuracy. A signature indicates an agreement that the score written is correct and will stand.

CONDUCT: Any player guilty of malicious contact will be out and ejected from that game and serve a 1 game suspension. Any coach ejected from a game must see the tournament director to see if he is able to coach the next game. This will be determined on why the coach or manager was ejected. Profanity will not be tolerated by players, coaches, or spectators and may cause immediate suspension. Coaches are responsible for controlling players and spectator’s actions during tournaments. Spectators showing unsportsmanlike conduct will be asked to leave and threaten the play of their team. Violent behavior will not be tolerated! Any verbal or physical threat or action will be immediately turned over to the local police department for action. Anyone participating in this type of behavior, especially to umpires or tournament personnel will be banned from ALL future events.

 

 

 

7 & 8 Under Rules

Four outfielders may be used.

All players must bat in a continuous rotation during the game.

Each batter will be allowed six pitches, unless he hits a foul ball on the sixth pitch. In that event he will be allowed one more pitch.

The batter is out on the third strike, regardless of whether the catcher holds onto the ball or not.

The batter is automatically out if he throws the bat after a warning has been given to his or her team. Runners must return to their previous base.

A runner leaving the base too soon in the umpire's judgment is automatically out.

The adult pitcher is to make certain that he/she gets out of the way of any batted ball and does not interfere with the player’s access to the ball. If, in the umpire's judgment, the adult pitcher interferes with a fielder's access to a batted ball, the batter is automatically out and the runners may not advance.

The adult pitcher is not allowed to coach the batter from the pitching area.

A fair ball hitting the coach pitcher will be considered a foul ball.

Ball is dead when returned to the infield and in the umpires judgment play has stopped.

The umpire will determine the position of runners when ball becomes dead.

A team will be restricted to scoring 5 runs per time at bat.

There will be no: base on balls, base awards for batter hit by a pitch, infield fly, stealing of bases, bunting.

The player pitcher shall be stationed in close proximity to the pitching circle at the time of the pitch.
